On September 13, 2010 Humana Veterans Healthcare Services announced two new members to its advisory board.  Both  the Honorable Gordon H. Mansfield and Scott F. Denniston accepted their appointment and will be joining the advisory board shortly.

Honorable Gordon H. Mansfield was the former Deputy Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs where he served as the Chief Operating Officer.  He has also served as the Acting Secretary of Veterans Affairs.  Mansfield is also a decorated Army Captain who has been the recipient of combat decorations including the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the Presidential Unit Citation.  He received his undergraduate education from Villanova University, and his law degree from the University of Miami.

Scott Denniston is the former VA Director of Small Business Programs and the Center for Small Enterprise.  He is currently the President and CEO of The Scott Group of Virgina.  Like Mansfield, Denniston is also an Army Veteran.  He received his undergraduate education from Waynesburg College, and his Masters Degree from Southern Illinois University.

Humana Veterans CEO and president, Tim McClain expressed his gratitude to the new comers by stating that “Humana Veterans is honored to have these two distinguished veterans on our Advisory Board…We welcome their guidance and proven leadership to our Advisory Board.”

The Humana Veterans Advisory Board was created to provide guidance and insight to Humana about the ever changing health care and benefit needs of Veterans.  Humana Veterans is a subsidiary of Humana Military Healthcare Services located in Louisville, Kentucky.  Formed in 2007, Humana Veterans was created to help diminish problems found within Veterans’ health care, and has remained flexible and responsive enough to progress alongside new VA requirements.
